HARDCORE. After tons of split releases with FUNERAL DINER, RACEBANNON, ANGER IS BEAUTIFUL, BLAME GAME a own 7" and discography CD this is their first full length with 6 songs (28 minutes). The new record is so far the best recorded material by this band which sometimes let me think on all those good old brutal german bands ala ACME, LOXIRAN and so on. If you want your hardcore varied, volcanic and intense, independent not only in theory but also in practice, with thoughtful, socially aware lyrics, then ZANN is your thing. Going strong since 1999, the five Germans epitomize all that made punk an important counterculture in the first place. Infusing an insightful political substance to their luminous musicianship, they clearly stand out as one of Germany's best contemporary hardcore purveyors. ZAO zaehlen nun schon seit ueber 10 Jahren zur Spitze der Metal- und Hardcore-Szene und eigentlich muss zu dieser Band um Saenger Dan Weyandt wirklich nichts mehr gesagt werden, finden sich doch ihre Einfluesse in x anderen Bands wieder. Nach Bruechen und Reformationen bringen ZAO mit ''The fear is what keeps us here'' ihr neustes Testament hervor. Im Vergleich zum letzten Album ''The funeral of god'' wirken die 11 neuen Songs beim ersten Hoeren erst mal komplett chaotisch, vertrackt und unstrukturiert. Dans Stimme ist sowas von brutal, verzerrt und daemonisch, das man fast meinen koennte, der Teufel hoechspersoenlich haette seine Finger im Spiel gehabt und sei in den Guten gefahren. Unglaublich heavy und gnadenlos, dicht gestrickt und unaufhaltsam entfaltet sich das Album jedoch langsam zu einem wahren Monster und zeigt wieder mal, wer in Sachen Zerstoerung die Hosen an hat. Keine Frage, auch mit diesem Album gehen ZAO einen Schritt weiter und legen die Latte eine Spur hoeher. Das soll ihnen erst mal jemand nachmachen. Neues full-length Album der christlichen Metalcore Band. Das Album ist ein Konzeptalbum und dreht sich um die Frage: Was waere, wenn Gott nicht mehr waere, oder wollte? Proof is "Vicious circle" and the two decades since of copyists, bootleggers, practitioners and reunion concert pogoers. Though before and after that LPs 1982 release they recorded the "Livin' in the '80s" 7", songs for three compilations and released the post-mortem "History of..." cassette revealing their transformation into a toured band warming to the metaphysical and their demise while still waving torches of Rock 'n' Roll panache. PUNK/HARDCORE. It came out of nowhere in 1982, this Punkrock/Hardcore fireball with the bright yellow sleeve. In one sense, The ZERO BOYS' "Vicious circle" was yet another example of how U.S. Punk seemed to peak coast to coast that year. But unlike most coastal punk, the ZERO BOYS were pointing the way to a scene that could accommodate heaping helpings of melody, intelligence, and Rock 'n' Roll, not just turbo-charged ferocity. HARDCORE. Six years after the formation of the band, ZERO MENTALITY come to realize they are stranded on the planet of the apes. Bound to a music-scene which is ruled by absence of imagination, the five musicians out of the Ruhrpott area deny to confirm to the mainstream. They run away from topical trends as if they were chased by the demons of hell, life and death. During their exodus they become aware there is only one salvation: "Black rock". From January to April 2009 they created an album together with their long-time producer and friend Jacob Bredahl in Arhus, Denmark. It's harder as cooled lava and softer than steel.

Jetzt auch als Vinyl zu haben! Nach der allerorts gefeierten Demo Single kann man getrost sagen, dass 'In fear of forever' eines der meisterwartetsten Alben 2005 darstellt. Los geht es mit 'Has everything we do already been done?', welcher schon die Marschroute anzeigt, naemlich Toughguy Moshcore mit jeder Menge Melodie dahinter. Der nachfolgende zweite Song, 'Traitor of my own', glaenzt mit einem clean gesungenen Refrain, Mitgroehlfaktors 10!! Danach geht es weiter wie ueblich, tougher NYHC mit fetten Breakdowns und Metalriffs. Der Song 'Nicht mehr' besticht durch einen deutschen Refrain. Von der Demo Single wurde 'Falling down' uebernommen. An den 10 Songs erkennt man, dass hier sehr viel Wert darauf gelegt wurde, kein Standardalbum abzuliefern, sondern sich von der Masse abzuheben und auch neues zu probieren. Klingt fuer Leute, denen die Band vertraut ist, wahrscheinlich im ersten Moment ungewoehnlich, nach dem zweiten durchhoeren stellt sich jedoch das Gefuehl ein, dass hier grossartiges geleistet wurde. HARDCORE. "Invite your soul" is the latest offering from German hardcore band ZERO MENTALITY. Expanding the sound created on their debut album "In fear of forever" was never going to be an easy task, but ZERO MENTALITY rose to the challenge and delivered 11 songs of titanic proportions that scream emotions such as hate, love, angst and hope and that musically draws influences from hardcore, punk, metal and rock taking their already signature sound to new levels of crushing heaviness and melodic intensity drawing the listener into their world and their domain.

HARDCORE. ZERO MENTALITY collaborated with The HEARTBREAK MOTEL on this one! In the beginning of February 2008 both bands accompanied each other and entered the Smart and Hard Studio in Aarhus, Denmark to record 4 songs with Jacob Bredahl. One of 2 two tracks that each band recorded was the product of a cooperative songwriting & recording process. The final result of the project among these chummy friends is now released released as a Split MCD and a double 7inch on colored vinyl. The MCD contains 2 video clips and a studio report.

ZZ sind aus Lifetime hervorgegangen. Sie arbeiten zwar immer noch mit Gitarren, aber durch die fiese Schweineorgel, den Drumcomputer und den Effekt-beladenen weiblichen Gesang hat die Band mit dem musikalisch ziemlich festgelegten Hardcore-Genre nichts zu tun, sondern bewegt sich äusserst unterhaltsam, trippig-trancig, crossovernd zwischen The Clash, Elvis Costello und Stereolab. Alles swingt schön und hat luftig-leichte Melodien, teilweise schimmern sogar Kraftwerk durch ... Electronica-Punk?!

PUNK. THE ZEROS were always seen as the Chicano brothers of the RAMONES even though their sound was much more poppy. They helped developing the Californian Punkscene back in 1976. This is their classic album now re-released again on BOMP! with songs like ''Beat your heart out'' and ''Don't push me around''. Singer Javier Escovedo later started a solo career as well as guitarist Roberto who is now famous as EL VEZ, the Mexican Elvis. Essential stuff!
