POST-PUNK. The 12" LP was re-cut and re-issued and includes a free MP3 download. Now a trio, this DC band has had to reinvent themselves to compensate for the loss of their original bass player. They have an angular, witty sound that is really unique. Rooted in the punk tradition, they manage to wriggle out of any restraints of that and play something wholly unclassifiable.

POST-PUNK. This 3-song 7" EP from DC's Q AND NOT U has been re-released and is available now for the first time since its initial release in 2000, but limited to 700 on colored vinyl. These songs were recorded around the time of the near-classic "No kill no beep beep."

Drittes Album der Washingtoner Post-Punkband, die diesmal ohne Bassisten auskommen muss. Dieser stieg naemlich nach dem letzten Album aus, so dass nun nur noch zwei Gitarren, Schlagzeug und allerlei Spielereien, wie Synthies, Floeten etc. zur Verfeugung stehen. Damit holen die Jungs allerdings so einiges raus und kreiren ihre ganz eigene kleine Popwelt, die zwischen treibenden Minimalbeats, poppigen Gitarren, Floeten und hohen Falsettostimmen manchmal gar nach Kinderlied klingt. Dennoch sind viele der Songs treibend, ganz klar neue Dischord Schule, tanzbar und trotz einer weirden Parts durchgaengig hoerbar. Kann man auf jeden Fall in einem Atemzug mit LES SAVY FAV nennen, auch wenn QANU definitiv durchgeknallter und interessanter sind. Schoen!

It features footage of all the live energy and behind-the-scenes craziness of the QUEERS on tour around the world circa '93 to '05. HARDCORE-PUNK. Despite calling Waterloo, IA home, QUICK FIX channel the spirits of early-'80s hardcore/punk bands such as ZERO BOYS, ABUSED, and JFA, helping to keep the heartbeat of the "skaterock" scene going.

INDIE. Stephen Howard has, in recent years, cut his teeth as a team player, offering up his considerable talents playing bass with Indie darlings DENALI and Capitol Records "droppies" AMBULETTE, and playing baritone guitar as a member of the self-proclaimed slowest band in Chicago, PINEBENDER. So, with the completion of "Songs about a sick boy", Howard steps out of the shadows with a solo record that is as harrowing as it is beautiful. A total of 12 songs written over a period of 12 years, it focuses almost exclusively on his health battles and subsequent emotional fallout following the ebb-and-flow cycles of affection, addiction and ailment.
