United States Verbicide Magazine stated that “this is what 90’s Alternative Rock would have sounded like had it not been tailor-made for radio play”. (DAMN) THIS DESERT AIR creates big, booming, melodic Rock, wide in its breadth, sound and scope. Their "Distance waits" entitled EP is more adventurous, technical and harder than the standard.

Frickelsound der GSL-Schule zu dem ein Etwas kreischt, als (Zitat Info)''a girl scout getting kidnapped''. In der Tat erinnert es an einen schlechten Teenie-Horror-Streifen aus den 80ern bei dem staendig und bei jeder Gelegenheit gekeift und schrill geschrien wird. Eher was fuer Liebhaber des experimentellen Sounds. Mit dabei ist uebrigens Jason von UNRUH.

SCREAMO-HARDCORE. ...WHO CALLS SO LOUD from San Francisco are Matt & Dave from FUNERAL DINER and two other friends who were recruited for this new band. ...WHO CALLS SO LOUD continues where FUNERAL DINER stopped, with epic, raw, mid-'90s inspired emo, all captured on a double-10" format with a gatefold cover and a CD of the entire album.

Yeah, yeah, yeah...das neue Album von 100 DEMONS ist da und wem das erste Album der Jungs gefallen hat, wird an diesem neuen Output definitiv auch nicht vorbeikommen. 9 Songs in bester Tough Guy Qualitaet. Ich muss aber zugestehen, das mir dieses Album doch um einiges besser gefaellt, als der Vorgänger. Hier hat der Metaleinfluss doch erheblcih zugenommen. Ansonsten gibt es fette Gitarrensounds und einen roechelnden Saenger, der seine Hasstexte ins Mikro bruellt.

HARDCORE. Recorded over a frigid weekend in Boston, MA in the analog domain of Alex Garcia Rivera (ex-GIVE UP THE GHOST) and later mixed by Kurt Ballou (CONVERGE), 108 have returned with their most electrifying and intense album to date, "18.61". from the first tension filled notes struck in “God talk,” it’s apparent that a spiritual restlessness and awareness continues to writhe in the collective consciousness of 108 which is an attribute that has set them apart from the rest of the musical world since their inception. From there, "18.61" pounds forth with the utmost intensity. Standout track “Crescent moon” races at manic speed before crashing in on itself in one of 108’s heaviest moments ever. Title track “18.61,” a moving and brooding song that is as unforgettable as they come, combines all of the unique musical qualities that make up 108. The gritty “Reduced” showcases new drummer Mike Justian (TRAP THEM, UNEARTH) as the new heart at the center of the 108 machine, rhythmically pushing the envelope with his punishing percussive power. Though the aforementioned songs are electric in every way, it’s in some of the more daring tracks that ''18.61'' truly starts to really shine. “Mannequins” and “Forever is destroyed,” for example, pick up where classics BLACK FLAG and ROLLINS BAND left off, taking frantic and unpredictable sonic turns that only a band like 108 could navigate. All of this makes "18.61" yet another stunning album from a band that continues to write their own destiny as one the most important and influential Hardcore/Punk bands in existence today.

HARDCORE. To this day, the message conveyed on the first flier announcing the formation of 108 perfectly encapsulates the purpose of the band: "Direct expression. Bypass mind. Bypass intellect. Self to sound. Against the dead trend. The robot me. The modern social entity stripped of color and vibrancy. Not philosophy. Not religion. True self expressed in sound." Their first proper studio album in over a decade, "A new beat from a dead heart" was recorded and engineered by Kurt Ballou (CONVERGE) at Godcity Studios. 13 songs.

HARDCORE. Auf zwei CDs gibt es hier die komplette Discography der Krishna-Kapelle aus New York. Enthalten sind hier die Alben ''Songs of separation'' und ''Threefold misery'', sowie die EP ''Curse of instinct'' und der uralte Song 'Holyname". Außerdem gibt es als dreingabe noch den bis dato unveröffentlichten Song "Panic". Das ganze Material (36 Songs) wurde nochmal neu remastered und die CDs kommen zusammen mit einem dicken Booklet, dass mit ausführlicher Bandgeschichte von Vic DiCara und einem schön aufgemachten Pappschuber mit kleinem Prägedruck aufwartet! Sehr klassischer und leicht metallischer früh '90er New-School Hardcore, bei dem es sich thematisch ausnahmslos um Philosophie und Spiritualität dreht! Trotz der Krishna-Minuspunkte Lohnenswert.

POST-PUNK. French band 12XU is one of the best new bands around right now and they need to do an LP in a hurry. This stuff is melodic and driving with perhaps more of a Post-Punk and Indierock thing than the Emo sound these guys usually do. OLD GROWTH are back and the first song sounds different. Less straight forward, more like DRIVE LIKE JEHU and TUBERS.

DEATH METAL. 1349 have been one of Norway's premier Black/Death Metal bands since 1997. In those years, they have progressed and recently have thrown in elements of Ambient, Doom and Industrial into their sound while still retaining the spirit of audible hellfire. They cemented their status touring over the years with GORGOROTH, ZYKLON, MY DYING BRIDE, CELTIC FROST, CARCASS and more.

SLUDGE/HARDCORE. 16 just won't die despite drug and alcohol abuse, a revolving door of members and the general misery of the individuals involved. "Bridges to burn" marks the 16th anniversary of the band and features the line-up from their classic 1996 "Drop out" record, providing another dozen tunes of pounding sludge that mixes the sound of bands like HELMET, UNSANE, MELVINS, DYSTOPIA and EYEHATEGOD.

SLUDGE/HARDCORE. Re-release! "Curves that kick", the long out-of-print debut album from SoCal quartet 16, threw the doors open to a new, post HELMET/AmRep sound of discordance and discontent. Originally released on Pushead’s Bacteria Sour label in ’93, the album exposed the nascent beginnings of the soon-to-be infamous quartet. As "Curves that kick" proved then and underscores now in its remixed and remastered form, 16 is its own unique, belligerent human animal.

SLUDGE/HARDCORE. Re-release! The beastly, throbbing riffs and tortured screams of 16’s now-legendary "Drop out" album sent shockwaves through the international music scene upon its ’96 release. It's obvious why over a decade later; the band made visceral anguish, angst, and disillusionment sound downright anthemic. 16 put an ugly, angry face on disenfranchised youth and "Drop out" became a touchstone and soundtrack for the next generation of heavy Rock trail blazers and trendsetters.

PUNK/HARDCORE. Hier handelt es sich um eine skandinavische Punklegende, mit zwei Ex-ROSVETT Leuten, die 1986 zusammen diese neue Band gruendeten. Die Band nahm zwei Tapes, eine EP und zwei LPs auf, von denen eine nie veroeffentlicht wurde. Ausserdem natuerlich verschiedene Beitraege fuer Compis und Splits. Zehn Jahre nach Aufloesung gab man im Jahre 2004 noch ein allerletztes Konzert. Nach 18 Jahren gibt es nun erstmals die remasterten Tapes von 1987 auf CD, insgesamt 30 Songs zwischen mid-tempo Punk und hyperschnellem und klassischem Skandinaven-Hardcore. Die letzten drei Songs stammen sogar aus der allerersten Seesion 1986 und wurden aufgrund des etwas miesen Sounds noch nie veroeffentlicht. Generell aber geht die Qaulitaet fuer Tapeverhaeltnisse in Ordnung. Ist eben schon lange her und sollte demnach als Zeitdokument gesehen werden. Kommt mit allen schwedischen Texten und vielen Fotos aus der Zeit.

METALCORE. Featuring members of FALL SILENT, Reno, NV locals 1618 play heavy, metallic hardcore that takes influence from mid-'90s Life Sentence Records bands as well as forward-thinking bands like REFUSED and mixes in some melodic moments a la POISON THE WELL.

POST-HARDCORE. Intricate, melodic and mathy Post-Hardcore from this Lancaster, PA drum and guitar duo. Imagine HOOVER in overdrive or GHOSTS & VODKA with vocals. Throw in the revolution summer influence of bands like EMBRACE and RITES OF SPRING and you will start to have an idea of what to expect.

POST-HARDCORE. Oakland, CA's SPIRES builds on their soaring melodic chaotic sound while 1994! continues on in the vein of their REVOLUTION SUMMER meets INTRICATE, anthemic Post-Hardcore style.

EMO/INDIE. At the center of 1997's debut, "... a better view of the rising moon" is the continued search for the band's creative vision as artists and friends. The members of 1997 come from diverse backgrounds, yet by meshing all of their styles and influences into a musical melting pot, the band has created a sound and style that is startlingly fresh and distinctive. The male and female harmonies summon elements of contemporary emo, lovelorn pop, groove, and acoustic folk sing-along. 12 songs.

EMO/INDIE. 1997 have always been a bit of a black sheep amongst their peers. In fact they are a lot like the average kid in America; slightly complicated, a little reckless and full of limitless energy and creativity. With two fantastic records in this band’s bag already and a wealth of crash-course knowledge of the road, 1997 is now ready to set their words and music free for album number three.
