PUNK. Pasivos/Muertos" is the second EP from this SF band featuring members of LOS CRUDOS, LIMP WRIST, and LODO Y ASFALTO. N.N. delivers 4 tracks of Punk with melody and fury while maintaining a political/personal message with loads of bite. A Spanish-language release and another to add to the growing list of U.S.-based Latino Punk.

DRONE/DOOM. Italy’s OVO and Canada’s NADJA, got together in their adoptive city of Berlin at EINSTÜRZENDE NEUBAUTEN’s Andere Baustelle Studio. With engineer Boris Wilsdorf at the board, each duo began 2 songs and had the other duo finish them, Bruno and Stefania adding heavy, pounding rhythms and harsh, eerie vocals to Aidan and Leah’s ambient textures and bass-heavy drones. The album, while still heavy and still retaining signature sounds of both groups, turned out groovier and mellower than either band expected. But this mellowness gives the songs a greater sense of presence and allows for the intricacies and nuances of each individual’s contributions to be properly heard. With a final mastering by James Plotkin, this album sounds simultaneously harsh and lush, aggressive and warm. Having coffee after the sessions in the back garden, a wasp drugged on sugar flew into Leah’s coffee cup and drowned itself, traumatizing everyone at the table.

METAL. Meticulously crafted and utterly expansive, "A new constellation" combines the best cross sections of Prog-Rock and jazz-infused Art-Metal with a healthy dose of Doom oriented melancholy. For fans of KATATONIA, CYNIC, O'PETH and AMORPHIS.

HARDCORE-PUNK. Featuring Todd Jones, formerly of CARRY ON and TERROR, on vocals, NAILS deliver 7 tracks of heavy, and slightly metallic, yet always fast and demented, Hardcore-Punk, somewhat similar to PULLING TEETH and TRAP THEM. The 12" includes a digital download code.

HARDCORE-PUNK. "Unsilent death" consists of 10 unrelenting and unapologetic songs with a sound not unlike the late '80s Earache Records catalog mixed with early Power Violence. Recorded during the cold winter of 2009 at Kurt Ballou's Godcity Recording Studio. Westbrook said: "It sounds like ENTOMBED covering NAPALM DEATH and DROPDEAD".

HARDCORE-PUNK. NAILS (not to be confused with the NAILS band from overseas with members of TERROR and whatnot) are from Berlin/Germany. They have the voice of BOMBENALARM, the drums of MÖNSTER, the guitar wolf of MIGRA VIOLENTA and Mr Arndt on the great big ukulele. Driving Hardcore-Punk in a very classic way with great conscious lyrics.

PUNK. NAKED RAYGUN's much anticipated first release since the band's recent reunion. Entitled "What poor gods we do make: The story and music behind Naked Raygun", the DVD+CD focuses on the band's history and the development of their music from "Basement screams" to "Raygun... Naked Raygun" through interviews with the band and many interviews, including Steve Albini, The Lawrence Arms, 88 Fingers Louie, Jake Burns of Stiff Little Fingers, The Effigies and many more. Moreover, the film aspect also focuses on the history and influence of Chicago's independent and Punk scene, even though it was often, and still, overlooked by punk historians and more recently, documentary filmmakers. The CD portion of the release will feature live highlights from their shows since NAKED RAYGUN's reunion at Riot Fest 2006, and will include all of the songs most identified with NAKED RAYGUN.

OLD-SCHOOL HARDCORE. Jetzt auch auf Vinyl. Nach INTEGRITY und RINGWORM kam ja laengere Zeit keine groessere Band mehr aus Cleveland. Dies koennte sich mit NAMES FOR GRAVES aber schlagartig aendern, denn was die Jungs auf ihrem Debut abliefern, ist schon sehr, sehr gut. Sie spielen Old-School Hardcore, der stark an COMEBACK KID erinnert, ohne aber kopierend zu wirken. Den Hoerer erwarten 12 Songs, die vor Energie, Melodie, Spielfreude und Drive nur so spruehen und Grosses erahnen lassen. Wer also Hardcore im Stile von COMEBACK KID und CHAMPION mit einer kleinen Note GOOD CLEAN FUN mag, der wird NAMES FOR GRAVES blind kaufen koennen. Tipp!

GRINDCORE/DEATH-METAL. Die britische Grindcore-Legende meldet sich eindrucksvoll mit einer neuen Scheibe zurück, auf der sie sich gewohnt gnadenlos durch 16 Grindcoreknaller prügelt. Barney's Grunzgesang keift sich erneut durch die gesellschaftskritischen Lyrics. Diesmal bekommt vor allem die Kirche und ihre Moral ordentlich ihr Fett weg. Dazu gesellen sich die typischen NAPALM DEATH-Trademarks, wie hyperschnelle, düstere Riffs und schmetternde Blastparts. Im Vergleich zu früheren Releases sind NAPALM DEATH hier etwas gemässigter, zimmern des öfteren mal ein ordentliches mid-tempo Brett und bauen unterschwellig mehr verstörende Melodien ein. An der Brutalität und Intensität der Kombo ändert dies aber reichlich wenig; im Gegenteil, dass Ganze ist nach wie vor eine mächtige Wand aus Wut und Protest und macht "Smear campaign" noch dunkler und unheimlicher. Bei 2 Songs bekommt Barney sogar weibliche Unterstützung am Mikro. Wer sich 45 min. lang die verdreckten Gehörgänge freipusten lassen möchte ist hier bestens bedient. Auf NAPALM DEATH kann man sich eben verlassen. Die Vinylversion hat noch die beiden Bonustracks "Call that an option?" und "Atheist run".

DEATH METAL/GRINDCORE. Continuing to challenge themselves and their listeners despite well over two decades of existence, the true fathers of grind, NAPALM DEATH, return with "Time waits for no slave," which proves the band has no plans of watering down their intense Grind attack, despite infusing groovier mid-tempo passages into their signature sound. HARDCORE. NARSAAK are back with this 6 song EP. They play melody driven Scandinavian Hardcore long before WOLFPACK and long before TRAGEDY turned a million americanised trendhoppers onto that stuff. All their records are great musically and the lyrics will frequently make your blood freeze. Their singer is from Bosnia originally, that´s why many of their songs are in Serbo-Croatian, which is one of the most brutal sounding languages for a Hardcore band, well besides Finnish maybe.
