HARDCORE. Iceland's I ADAPT are teeming with passion, both in the music they play, but also in the delivery of their political and heartfelt lyrics. Possibly the best and most important Hardcore band from their country. They have toured Europe multiple times, toured the US once, and upon the release of this record, will tour the eastern US once again, bringing their MODERN LIFE IS WAR meets TRAGEDY styled Hardcore stateside.

PROGRESSIVE METAL. Michigan's I AM ABOMINATION is playing by the old-school rules in a new-school world, bringing a heavy sound comparable to The DEVIL WEARS PRADA and IN FEAR AND FAITH, but without the choreographed guitar swings and drop-tuned breakdowns. They have already put in hard work, touring wth LOWER DEFINITION, A HERO A FAKE, FAREWELL TO FREEDOM, BENEATH THE SKY and SETTLE THE SCORE.

EMO. I AM ALASKA, hailing from the Philadelphia area, is a collective of five creative individuals bringing a new edge and refreshing sound to the table. Their debut EP "A day in a life", recorded by the talented Vince Ratti (Zolof The Rock And Roll Destroyer), brings with it an exhilarating uniqueness and sense of unrelenting urgency. Straying from traditional song construction and lyrical patterns, the subtle hooks and catchy melodies blend seamlessly with the complex guitar riffs and elaborate drum patterns.

PUNK. From the baroque Latin chorus that opens the CD, to the punishing guitar overdrive of first video/single "Our Friend Lazarus Sleeps," "Lovers' Requiem" will take fans of their haunting melodicism to new symphonic heights. Stints on the Warped Tour coupled with massive publicity online and through Alternative Press have propelled this band to new heights, placing them alongside Him, Aiden, AFI and Avenged Sevenfold. 12 songs.

PUNK. California's dark-rock quartet I AM GHOST returns with their sophomore album, "Those we leave behind" - 14 turbulent tracks of classic screamo. Combining sharp metallic riffs and soaring melodic choruses with tragic lyrics of love and decay, "Those we leave behind" is a non-stop torrent of brooding passion-fueled rock with immediate accessibility.

PUNK. The words "dark," "macabre" and "beautiful" only begin to describe the unique music of I Am Ghost. By seamlessly integrating the raw energy of post-hardcore with contemporary punk rock and elements of classical strings and piano, I Am Ghost have developed a unique style that crosses genres, unites scenes and makes for a powerful overall experience. 9 songs.

POP-PUNK. In addition to near constant touring, member changes, van break-downs and personal demons, I CALL FIVES managed to stay true to themselves and their devotion to write modern Pop-Punk music the way they like it on their No Sleep Records debut, "Bad advice." Having earned the support and confidence of their fans and modern Pop-Punk peers with their first EP, "First things first", I CALL FIVES has begun to stand out in a saturated scene. In contrast to "First things first", "Bad advice" brings the real-world experience ICF's gained in the past year, giving the record a fitting and exciting sound and personality, and a special spot in today's Pop-Punk scene.

DEATH METAL. Seattle, WA's I DECLARE WAR has opened locally for the biggest bands in the Death Metal world-WHITECHAPEL, The ACACIA STRAIN, SUICIDE SILENCE, DESPIDED ICON and more, and, with "Malevolence," aim to leave their own mark on the scene, bringing 11 crushing tracks of pure American Death.

HARDCORE. Nach 2 Veröffentlichungen auf Reflections ist die Hannoveraner Band um ehemalige VEIL und MIOZÄN Mitglieder nun auf Thorp Records gelandet. Auch auf dieser Scheibe (14 Songs) knallt der energiegeladene Hardcore von der ersten Sekunde an. Die eingeschlagene Richtung aus schnellem und hochmelodiösem Hardcore und melodiösen Singalong-Parts wurde auch hier weiter eingehalten, wobei die Melody-Parts in den Vocals und dem Songwriting doch noch etwas zugenommen haben. Bands wie STRETCH ARM STRONG, frühe SHELTER kommen einem hier durchaus in Erinnerung. Der gute DOWN BY LAW Hidden-Track rundet das gelungene Album vollends ab! I DEFY bieten zeitlosen Hardcore, der sowohl die Old-School, als auch Modern-Hardcore Fraktionen zu begeistern weiss und erfreulicherweise ganz ohne Klischees auskommt.

HARDCORE. While still rooted in Hardcore, Australia's I EXIST bring in elements of Stoner Rock, Sludge and Doom a la ELECTRIC WIZARD, EYEHATEGOD and SLEEP. This debut album, while still geared towards short blasts of Hardcore, pulls from those new influences and includes a nine-minute guitar workout to close out the record.

HARDCORE. I HATE THIS are back with more raw and punk styled Thrash/Hardcore from the forests of New Jersey and Pennsylvania. Female fronted raw and short blasts of furious and pissed off Hardcore, blaze through, the best tracks of their earlier releases.

HARDCORE/THRASHCORE. I HATE THIS play raw and fast female fronted hardcore, pissed and real straight forward, no messing around, just fast and raw. RAW SEWAGE is now-defunct beer drenched thrashcore, bearing on the lines of power violence, bands like HELLNATION come to mind.

HARDCORE. I KILLED THE PROM QUEEN are yet another international act hellbent on destruction, presenting their debut on Metal Blade Records. This Adelaide, Australia group goes straight for the jugular, with huge breakdowns and crushing guitars, and take their act on the road, playing at home In Australia with GIVE UP THE GHOST and SOILWORK and in the States with EVERGREEN TERRACE.

HARDCORE. I KILLED THE PROM QUEEN were Australia's most ferocious export, with an attack of metallic Hardcore akin to HATEBREED and EVERGREEN TERRACE. This CD/DVD release features the Adelaide show from their farewell tour that includes video and audio of the set as well as interviews and other extras.

HARDCORE-PUNK. Schneller, angepisster, female-fronted Hardcore-Punk aus Buffalo/Rochester/Syracuse. Die Band ist seit Jahren in der D.I.Y. Bewegung zu Hause, hat schon mehrere Single-Releases in Eigenregie herausgebracht, sowie einige Touren selbst organisiert. Nun haben sie sich entschlossen, ihr erstes full-length Album in Zusamenarbeit mit AT rauszubringen. Wie bei vielen Releases von Alternative Tantacles geht es hier sehr politisch zur Sache, Songs wie ''Empty minds=empty lives'' oder ''Feeding off ourselves'' sind ein fetter Tritt in den Arsch der amerikanschen Gesellschaft. Musikalisch gibt es einen Mix aus krachigem Punk, leicht crustigem Anarcho-Hardcore-Punk und diletantischem Rrriot-Girl-Sound (''Picking & picking''). 16 schnelle und straighte Songs mit rotziger Stimme, kratziger Gitarre und mitreissenden Refrains. Dazwischen gibt es auch immer wieder einen mid-tempo Song, der diese sympathische Scheibe auflockert! Dazu ein Cover, dass zeigt, was passiert, wenn Punx Rache ueben lernen!

HARDCORE. One of the most anticipated LPs of the summer for the new crop of Massachusetts hardcore bands, I RISE (comprised of former members of YOUTH ATTACK, and current members of AMBITIONS) brings us ''Songs for Redemption'' - a record that builds on their hard-hitting, mid-tempo sound that's blended with charged lyrics. A style that is reminiscent of some mid/late-'90s bands, but with a their own, brand new flavor.

METALCORE. With some members not even old enough to drive, Detroit, MI's I SEE STARS bring their youthful energy to a sound that mixes electronics with an unmistakable melodic sensibility and a handful of screaming breakdowns thrown in. Despite their young ages, the band members have already proved to be road warriors through tours with Before Their Eyes, Lovehatehero, Oceana and The Number Twelve Looks Like You.

PUNK-ROCK. Was die finnische Kombo auf ihrer aktuellen Hit-Single abliefert ist wahrlich nicht von schlechten Eltern. Mit dem Titeltrack `Diamond Eyes´ erreichten I WALK THE LINE bereits zum 2. mal die nationalen Verkaufscharts in Finnland (Rang 2)! Diese Single enthält 3 intensive, melancholische Punkrock Stücke, die genial mit Hammondorgel versehen wurden. Musikalisch bewegen sie sich im Spannungsfeld zwischen THE CLASH, SOCIAL DISTORTION und ROCKET FROM THE CRYPT. Im Vergleich zum Album sind sie noch eine Spur poppiger und massenkompatibler (nicht im negativen Sinne) ausgefallen. Es darf gespannt sein, wann der Siegeszug der Band außerhalb Finnlands losgetreten wird. Auf der MCD befindet sich noch der Videotrack "When i'm gone" der auf dem letzten Album vertreten war.
