STREETPUNK. Punk around the World, wie man so schoen sagt. Die Jungs aus Melbourne/Australien haben 1995 angefangen Punk der britischen Praegung zu spielen. Zu ihren Einfluessen zaehlen sowohl die ganzen 77er Bands, wie auch Oi!, Ska und Reggae Kuenstler. Auf dieser Platte bringen sie 25 Tracks jamaikanisch angehauchten Streetpunks zusammen, unter anderem auch Coverversionen von JIMMY CLIFF, ROSE TATOO, JOHNNY THUNDERS und THE RUTS.

HARDCORE. Diese DVD beinhaltet die komplette Show zum 10-jährigen Jubiläum der Band, aufgezeichnet in der Knitting Factory in New York. Ausserdem enthalten sind die Videoclips zu "Spirit of 84", "Family tree", "Everready", "One life one chance", "Role model" und der ICE CUBE Coverversion "It was a good day", viele Homevideos, die zwischen 1994 und 1999 gedreht wurden und die Jungs sehr privat zeigen und massig Extras.

Wie auf den Vorgängern legen Hagfish wieder mit ihrem Pop Punk los, allerdings ein klein wenig unrockiger als beim Vorgänger ''Rocks your lame ass'' geht es hier zur Sache.

Einseitig bespielte Livescheibe der finnischen (Kult?)Band mit 5 Livetracks die an schnelle RAMONES und vor allem an KLAMYDIA erinnern. Qualitaet ist gerade noch okay, Aufmachung eher faul!

GRINDCORE. HALF GORILLA are from Milwaukee and play 4 songs that have a really thick, pummeling sound. KURSK, who have been forced to change their name to WOLBACHIA, are from Winnipeg. This time with 3 tracks that are best described as the grinding sound of gears in a machine.

DRONE/METAL. HALLOW is the soundtrack to accompany Mark McCoy's drawing exhibition at LA's notorious HOPE Gallery. Each side of this double LP degenerates from raw, relentless Black Metal down to a dissonant processionary drone. There are nine musical compositions to correspond with each of the intense drawings featured in the show (all of which featured in a stunning 12 page booklet), the side of each disc showcasing a consistent breakdown of structure mirrored by an intensifying sense of isolation and reverie. Features additional musical contributions by Will Killingsworth (Orchid, Ampere, Failures), Matt Wilga (Failures, Cancer Kids) and American noise pioneer, Prurient. Split release with Teardrops. PROGRESSIVE/DOOM. HALLOWED BUTCHERY is the alter-ego of Ryan Scott Fairfield from Kennebec County, and his one-man-project brings you bizarre soundscapes between Ambient, Folk, Industrial, Progressive-Rock and heavy Doom-Metal. Instead of the average doom repetitiveness, variety is the bottom line of this symphonic opus, ranging from soft melancholic acoustic passages to pure dark and slow funeral doom marches and weird synth fanfares. Altogether this results in a great album taking the listener on a trip into unknown depths of the self. For fans of AHAB, EARTH or KHANATE.

METALCORE. HALO OF GUNFIRE, hailing from the picturesque central California coastland, take the new-school extreme metal sound to a level only seen in such acts as BLACK DAHLIA MURDER, THROUGH THE EYES OF DEAD, JOB FOR A COWBOY and DESPISED ICON, and omit clean-sung vocals entirely. This is grunting, snorting and shouting par excellance.

HARDCORE. Wer die Band bereits von den drei Veroeffentlichungen (2x Single und LP) her kennt, wird unschwer leugnen koennen, dass die Band sich in jeglicher musikalischen Hinsicht gnadenlos dem traditionellen Japan-Hardcore verschrieben hat, der durch den typischen Gitarrensound, das Tempo und der unbaendigen Energie besticht. Auf diesem Release gibt es 7 neue, auf den Punkt gebrachte Tracks der Japaner, die in gewohnter Manier erstklassig und praezise runtergepruegelt werden und die Puristen des Genre ruhigstellen und befriedigen duerften. Trotz der niedergetrampelten Wege der zahllosen Plagiate findet und entdeckt die Kombo immer neue Moeglichkeiten, um diesem stagnierenden Genre neues und innovatives Leben einzuhauchen. Vergleiche mit GAUZE und anderen Japan-Groessen sind zweifelsfrei berechtigt, wuerdigen das eigene Schaffen der Band aber zu wenig! Einzig das schlichte Coverlayout und das ausnahmslos in japanisch gehaltene Lyricsheet lassen zu Wuenschen uebrig. Trotzdem HAMMER Scheibe..hehe..

THRASH-HARDCORE. HAMMER BROS. is back with a 5-song EP continuing their Metal/Crossover/Hardcore hybrid style that takes equal parts from CRO-MAGS, S.O.D. and early METALLICA.

TRASH-HARDCORE. Combining the sounds of '80s crossover thrash and traditional hardcore, Boston, MA's HAMMER BROS continue to thrive, as evidenced on this, their seven-track debut for Welfare Records. HARDCORE-PUNK. After the folding of Crosscheck Records, FNS picks up the pieces and releases this groundbreaking LP in all its face smashing, heavy-moshing glory. HAMMER BROS from Boston, Massachusetts take the hardcore world by storm with their infectious heavy-as fuck brand of Hardcore Punk. Often compared to scene legends like CRO-MAGS, AGNOSTIC FRONT, RINGWORM and INTEGRITY, HAMMER BROS blaze a new path of destruction with tracks like "Boston AM" and the epic "Legion".

HARDCORE. Orange County, CA's HAMMERFIST burst onto the scene with their debut release, a ten track juggernaut that varies between speed and oppressive heaviness, taking cues from bands like SHATTERED REALM, DEATH BEFORE DISHONOR and TERROR.

METAL. This self-titled effort is the debut full-length from Lawrence, KS' thrashers HAMMERLORD who have previously done time in bands like The ESOTERIC and CALIGARY and currently also play in The BLINDING LIGHT. With HAMMERLORD, they pay homage to Metal of yore, pounding through 9 tracks that bring to mind early METALLICA, MEGADEATH, ANTHRAX and SLAYER.

EMOCORE. "Design ehe end / Follow the horizon" can easily be characterized as a Hardcore and Rock fused Metal album with an ear for incredible hooks and catchy melodies. The boys from Florida let go of the boundaries and limitations that their previous efforts had placed on them and focused on great dynamics and a mature, yet fresh approach. For fans of ANBERLIN, UNDEROTAH, ESCAPE THE FATE and HASTE THE DAY.

HARDCORE. Shane Ochsner, Josh Silbernagel, Chris Schwartz and Jerik Hendrickson collectively are HANDS, a Fargo band that combines circling atmospheric guitars punctuated with hard-hitting progressions. They are a band in which Rock and Roll meets ambient Hardcore and warm silvery singing rivals Hardcore screams. Their songs are carefully crafted and layered with hope and strength, their evocative lyrics and emotional vocals leave HANDS openhearted to listeners.

HARDCORE. Springfield, MA's HANDS IN have been at it since 2004, honing their fast, yet modern Hardcore sound that at times pays tribute to CHAIN OF STRENGTH, but adds in heavier elements of bands like NO WARNING and TERROR.
